When
2015-2017
A defining outcome of my work with Parker was helping modernize a 100-year-old fine writing brand through a comprehensive CMF and packaging transformation across four pen models. For Phase 1 alone, I authored 21 individual CMF variations, introducing on-trend custom colors, finishes, and new product graphics that respected Parker’s heritage while positioning the brand for a contemporary audience.

As Principal CMF Designer, I led the CMF and trend strategy within a cross-functional team of brand managers, industrial designers, and graphic designers operating across the US, Europe, and Asia. I drove trend research and persona development, built mood boards, defined CMF frameworks, conducted color studies, and established color targets that translated brand intent into refined, manufacturable directions. I also provided on-product graphic art direction, developed design prototypes, and authored CMF specifications to guide execution.

My role extended beyond strategy into render-to-reality execution. I stepped in as CMF developer, leading color matching activities directly with manufacturing partners in France and China, ensuring finishes, materials, and graphics achieved the intended fidelity in production. Through daily collaboration with process partners and multilingual teams, I aligned creative vision with manufacturing realities across time zones and facilities.

The CMF developer, leading color-matching activities directly with manufacturing partners in France and China, ensured that the result was dozens of concepts that evolved into 60+ upgraded SKUs, elevating the Parker portfolio with a cohesive, modern CMF language while preserving the craftsmanship and brand DNA that define Parker’s legacy. This work demonstrated how strategic CMF can bridge heritage and innovation—using color, material, finish, and graphics as systems to refresh identity, drive scalability, and deliver market relevance without losing authenticity.
